Intersport tests a new business concept in the Czech Republic

Sports equipment retailer Intersport disclosed that it plans to open a chain of shops which will be complemented by an equipment rental units. Stores will open in the mountain resorts on the basis of franchise system. The first shop has already commenced operation in the ski resort Lipno in December 2011.
Intersport is now eyeing other mountain resorts and wants to build the network of shops expanded by rental units through franchise, according to Marketing & Media.
