Oxeo.pl B2B group shopping site launched

Oxeo.pl, an online group shopping service designated exclusively for companies and businesses, has been launched. It is the third B2B only group shopping site in Poland after b2bdeal.pl and grupamis.pl, and aims to become the leader among such services with 100,000 users by the end of 2012.
According to Agnieszka Wierzbicka, head of Oxeo.pl, the site differs from similar ones in the way offers are presented, i.e. according to micro, small and medium companies, and organised by category, as opposed to the location of the service. Companies are more concerned with the cheapest offer, not necessarily the closest one, according to Oxeo’s research.
In addition to Oxeo,
B2BDeal and
GrupaMis, citeam.pl and gruper.pl also have B2B sections within their sites aimed at consumers in general. Globally, only a dozen or so B2B only websites are available, according to Oxeo, with the most popular being
BizyDeal,
HuddleBuy,
GroupPrice and
RapidBuyr.
The first group shopping site in Poland,
Groupon, was launched nearly two years ago, and over 100 such services have since appeared. According to Megapanel data cited by Oxeo, in October 2011 Groupon was the largest one with nearly 3.5 million users, followed by
Citeam with almost 2.2 million and
Gruper nearly 1.6 million.
The group shopping sector in Poland is dominated by consumer services. Since 2010 there has been over 120 services, but only few of them decided to start the service on the B2B market. In a couple of years we will have maybe 10 strong services, a few local ones, and one or two in the B2B sector. It is not so easy to communicate to the business that we cater for their needs, even if the services are much cheaper. Companies are not spontaneous – they are smart buyers, that is why we decided to launch Oxeo.pl – to provide firms with selected, smart offers. We believe that this part of e-commerce will grow, especially at the time of the crisis when every customer and relations between companies are more precious than gold.
