Lego builds new plant in Nyiregyhaza

Lego Manufacturing, the Hungarian subsidiary of the Danish Lego Group, is planning to start a €125m investment at its plant in Nyiregyhaza (eastern Hungary) during the summer of 2012. The investment consists of the construction of an 80,000 m² plastic molding production hall and a 18,000 m² warehouse. The investment will be ready in 2014.
After the completion of the new facilities Lego Manufacturing will employ 1,550 permanent workers at peak times. Currently it employs 1,300 permanent and 200 seasonal workers.
The company is planning to further expand its production facility in Nyiregyhaza over the next 15 years. It has already acquired a 100 hectare plot to accommodate these investments.
