Subway cuts prices
2009-07-23
The
fast-food chain Subway plans to introduce a range of less-expensive products as a means of attracting
customers during the economic crisis. The company’s spokesperson confirmed that this decision has been prompted by a decline in sales.
Along with new products, Subway is planning to reduce the price in the sandwich menu in order to attract price-sensitive customers. New sandwiches named Torpedo and Baby Sub will be added to the menu and available for CZK 25 (€0.96), according to
Denik magazine.
Subway operates 120
restaurants in Central and Eastern Europe (including Russia), over ten of which are in the Czech Republic. The company is one of the fastest-growing fast-food chains in the region. In Q1 2009 the company opened 25 restaurants.
