Most Czechs not planning to cut back on Christmas spending

Although the financial crisis is expected to affect Christmas shopping, more than half of Czechs are planning to spend a similar amount of money for gifts as last year, according to a survey recently conducted by Deloitte. Planned expenditures have decreased by an average of 2.5% compared to last year and amount to CZK 13,400 (€525). The European average is €600.
A significant proportion of Czechs (41%) plans to do some of their Christmas shopping online. The European average is only 16%. Among the most popular Christmas gifts in the Czech Republic are books,
clothing, cosmetics and money.
