Samus Mex expects exports to increase in 2010

The Romanian furniture manufacturer Samus Mex, a part of the Mobexpert group, is banking on a growth in revenue from exports as a result of the recovery of the European furniture market expected by the company in 2010. Only a small share of Samus Mex products are sold on the domestic market (through the Mobexpert chain), with the majority exported to France, Belgium and Hungary. The company expects sales of RON 24.7m (€5.9m) in 2010, an increase of 9% over the previous year.
In 2009 Samus Mex generated sales revenues of RON 22.4m (€5.3m), down from RON 30.4m (€8.3m) in 2008. In addition to the economic difficulties brought about by the crisis, Samus Mex also had to contend with the increased threat of competition posed by cheaper products originating from China.
