The fast-food industry in Slovakia expects several new openings in 2010.
One of the largest fast-food operators in Slovakia,
McDonald’s, plans to open five new units this year, its 15th year on the Slovak market. These could include units of the new McCafe format introduced by the company last year in Trencin.
Subway plans to double the number of its outlets in Slovakia, to eight, during 2010.
The Czech operator
Paneria, announced last year that it would open several outlets in Slovakia during 2010. The company, which operates 23 units in the Czech Republic, is currently looking for a local partner in order to help build its network of restaurants.
Emporio Lander, the operator of Emporio cafes, also plans to introduce formats similar to those of the fast-food sector. In turn, the Slovak restaurant chain,
Pizza Mizza, plans to open its first fast-food outlet in March 2010.
