The Romanian meat processor Caroli Foods has recently entered a joint-venture with Campofrio Foods Group, the owner of the Romanian meat processor Tabco-Campofrio. The newly formed company is called Caroli Foods Group, with Caroli Foods owning 51% and the remainder belonging to Campofrio. Under the terms of the deal, Caroli Foods will take over the operations of the new company and the production unit owned by Tabco-Campofrio in Tulcea. The Campofrio brand will continue to exist.
Tabco-Campofrio reported sales revenues of €32.5m in 2008, down 9.4% from the previous year. For 2009 Tabco-Campofrio expected its revenues to stagnate.
Caroli Foods Group employs a total of 1,300 people and has two other factories, in Pitesti.
