The insolvent Robema brewery in Rosiorii de Vede, Teleorman County, has halted production of its Robema and Barley beers. This latest move, coupled with the company entering insolvency in summer 2009, has led to 170 people being made redundant. In total, the brewer’s debs to its 49 creditors amount to RON 50m (€12m), according to AMT Insolvency Services Craiova, the judicial administrator of the company. The company’s single biggest debt – that of RON 45m (€10.7m) – consists of unpaid back taxes.
Robema, which is controlled by Power Point Marketing Management Distribution, generated revenues of €4.6m in 2008, a year-on-year decline of 27%. The company posted annual losses of €2.5m in both 2007 and 2008.
