Julius Meinl Coffee Bratislava saw its revenues and profit down in 2009

Foodstuffs manufacturer and retailer Julius Meinl CoffeeBratislava incurred a loss of €1.6m in 2009, down from the previous year’s profit of €1.28m, according to the company. Its sales revenues declined to some €7.1m in 2009 from €11.8m in 2008.
Last year Julius Meinl Coffee Bratislava continued with its strategy to pull back from the retail sector, focusing instead on sales in hotels, restaurants and cafes. The company has so far sold mostly premium brands in retail.
Julius Meinl Coffee Bratislava, which until June 2008 operated in Slovakia as Julius Meinl Baliarne Bratislava, set foot in the country in March 1992. The company specialises in the production and distribution of foodstuffs, mainly coffees and teas. The firm’s majority owner is Vienna’s Julius Meinl Industrieholding.
