The purchase price of cow raw milk in Slovakia increased last year by 50%, according to the Slovak dairy association. This was due mostly to an increased demand for dried milk and butter.
The purchase price of raw milk in Slovakia is now €0.27 per litre. It is estimated that in the coming years, the price will stabilize at some €0.28-0.30 per litre.
The price of processed dairy products in Slovakia last year was 8% lower than the EU average, according to the association. The growth in prices of raw milk prompted dairies to renegotiate the price offered to retailers. They aim at increasing prices on average by 4-5%, according to one of the largest dairies in Slovakia, Agro Tami.
