2010-07-06
In 2009 the Czech brewery
Budejovicky Budvar recorded a 2.8% year-on-year decrease in alcohol production to about 1.2 million hectolitres, the business portal E15 reported. However, company sales went up by 1.2%, which amounted to CZK 2.4 bn (€94m). Profit before tax stood at CZK 298.6m (€11.7m).
Out of the total amount of beer manufactured, 695,000 hectolitres were sold on the domestic market, which represents a 4.9% decline year on year. The rest of the production was exported into other 58 markets. The company expects the
beer market in the Czech Republic to continue to decline this year.
