In 2009, the Slovak paper product manufacturer Mondi SCP saw a 12.5% year-on-year decline in its sales revenues reaching €420.4m, down from €480.6m in the previous year. Over the period, Mondi’s core activity which includes sales of paper, celluloses and packaging paper, generated sales revenues worth €380.7m. The remainder came from other activities such as services and sales of energy.
The company’s profit before taxes last year was €47.4m, a year-on-year decline of more than 12.8%. The company slashed its staff to 1,486 last year, from 1,657 in 2008.
Mondi SCP was established n 1995 as Severoslovenske Celulozky a Papierne. The company makes a broad assortment of paper products including boards, paper, office and school paper products such as notebooks, etc. In 2004 the group Mondi purchased 51% in the firm. The remainder is in the hands of Eco-Invest.
