More exclusive clothing brands appearing in Poland
2010-07-13
Internationally recognisable luxury brands are entering the Polish market, according to Rzeczpospolita. In August/September 2010 Carolina Herrera, the exclusive American clothing brand, will open in Warsaw, and the Italian Tod’s is also considering the launch of a boutique in the country. According to unofficial reports, the latter brand’s offer may appear at the Salvatore Ferragamo outlet in Warsaw, which is, at the moment, in the process of being built.
Burberry is planning to open its fourth store in Poland in August: this will be located in Katowice. The latter brand was introduced to Poland by the Paradise Group, which also launched Kenzo and Ermenegildo Zegna on the Polish market.
In addition, the Powierza Family Company, is intending to set up a new store showcasing an Italian luxury brand in September 2010, but this brand has not yet been identified. So far, the company has introduced the Max Mara, Pollini and Coccinelle brands to Poland. In July, it will open a new Pennyblack store in the Stary Browar shopping gallery in Poznan, and in September another Weekend Max Mara outlet will appear in Warsaw.
Although spending on luxury goods is on the increase in Poland, many world-famous exclusive brands are not yet available on the Polish market. According to KPMG, one-third of all luxury clothing brands are present in the country.
There has been market speculation that new brands such as Prada, Chanel, Louis Vuitton and Chloe could appear at the Bracka department store in Warsaw. This is being developed by the Likus family, which sells the collections of firms such as Diesel, Paul Smith and Lanvin in Poland.
