Mieszko to strengthen its position on the Eastern Europe markets
2010-07-20
Mieszko, a Polish confectionery producer, aims at development and expansion, according to Parkiet. The company plans to increase its sales and productivity, which is, according to the chairman Marek Malinowski, crucial in avoiding cutting the expenses and blocking the development over the longer perspective.
The company does not exclude takeovers, which, according to analysts, may be conducted by a new Mieszko shareholder, Lithuanian fund Eva Grupe. Eva Grupe’s support may help Mieszko to strengthen its position on the Eastern Europe markets.
Eva Grupe’s portfolio consists of shares of another major confectionery producer, Vilniaus Pergale, which controls 17% of the Lithuanian sweets market. The company sells its products to Russia, Poland, Israel and the US.
