2010-07-21
The office furniture market in Romania has decreased by 20% in terms of value in the first five months of 2010 compared to the same period last year, as show sales revenues of the main players in the sector.
Last year, the market registered a steep decline in sales revenues of 50% to €50m from €100m in 2008. In 2010, office furniture sales are expected to lower to €40. Market players expect the recovery to begin in 2012, according to information gathered by Ziarul Financiar.
Office furniture accounts for 5-6% of the entire furniture market in Romania, which reached the value of €900m in 2009. The total Romanian furniture production was estimated at €1.6bn in 2009 and is expected to grow by 5% this year, according to the Furniture Manufacturers Association in Romania.
