In January-June 2010, Plzensky Prazdroj brewery increased exports of Pilsner Urquell to the UK to over 2.4 million hl, up 20% year on year. If the trend continues, the British market will become one of the five key export markets for the company, portal Euro.cz reported.
The company attributes the growth to the agreement for the partnership in the golf tournament, the Open Championship. The agreement was made last year and will last until 2013. This year, the event’s spectators drank 70,000 pints of Pilsner Urquell.
