Alfa Group to launch Korzo shopping centre in autumn
2010-07-27
Korzo, a two-floor shopping centre built in the format of a shopping passage, is scheduled to be erected in the city of Prievidza by Austria’s Alfa Group. The centre is being built in the shopping area Prievidza, near a Tesco hypermarket.
In total, the centre is envisaged to have 22,500 m² in GLA, which will accommodate over 60 stores, restaurants and cafes. Korzo’s signed-up tenants so far include clothing retailers New Yorker, Kenvelo, Gate, Takko and Orsay, the sports retailer A3 Sport, footwear sellers such as Deichmann and Bata, the toy retailer Alltoys and the bookstore Panta Rhei.
Construction on the centre began in mid-March 2010. The centre’s first phase, in which some 13,500 m² in GLA are to be delivered, is planned to be launched on 23 September 2010. Alfa Group would not elaborate on the total cost of the entire project; the first phase is to cost €17m.
The centre was originally planned to be launched in spring 2010, but the economic downturn forced its developers to delay the opening.
Alfa Group built a similar centre in Trnava, and now plans one in Presov.
