2010-07-28
Indesit, an Italian producer of household appliances, has received a €75m grant from the European Investment Bank for the establishment of research and development (R&D) centres in Poland and Italy, according to a report in Rzeczpospolita. It is thought that the project is worth €155m.
The producer has not disclosed any information about the centre, and it is not known how many R&D employees there will be in Poland and Italy.
The R&D department is to work on solutions for water and energy usage and on methods of using recycled materials in production.
Indesit owns four factories in Poland: these produce kitchen stoves, refrigerators and washing machines. At present, the research and development departments of the factories employ 55 people in Poland.
