Eurocash completes acquisition of CEDC distribution division

The Eurocash retail group has completed the acquisition of distribution companies which belong to the CEDC a producer of strong spirits. A preliminary agreement worth PLN 400m (€100m) was signed on 8 April 2010.
The acquired distribution division of the CEDC is the largest wholesaler of strong spirits in Poland: it earned sales revenues of PLN 2.18bn (€546.6m) in 2009. The distribution companies manage around 80 storage facilities and employ around 1,900 people.
As a result of the acquisition Eurocash will significantly strengthen its position on the alcoholic beverages wholesale market in Poland.
