Czech clothing and textile industry reports slight increase in sales

Following several years of declining sales, the
Czech textile and clothing industry has been able to report an improvement in results in the first half of 2010. Companies operating in the industry generated combined sales of CZK 21bn (€848.5m) during the first six months of the year – 0.3% more than during the same period in 2009, according to data from the Association of Textile, Clothing and Leather Industry (ATOK). Though an increase was reported, it came despite the revenues generated by clothing manufacturers falling by 13.3% year on year to CZK 3.3bn (€133,300).
