The grocery retailer Mega Image plans to open nine new outlets in Romania over the course of the month of August 2013. Mega Image has already inaugurated one outlet at the beginning of August in Brasov, Mega Image Zizin, with a leasable area of 361 m².
In July 2013, the company opened six stores on the Romanian market: two Mega Image supermarkets and four Shop & Go proximity stores.
Mega Image is part of the Belgian Delhaize group, and it runs the largest grocery store chain in Romania with 239 outlets across the country. Of those, a total of 145 are Mega Image supermarkets and 94 are Shop & Go proximity stores.
In 2012, the company netted RON 46.7m (€10.5m) and posted sales revenues of RON 1.75bn (€394m).
