On 16 October 2010 the computer distributor Merlion opened a Citylink consumer electronics discounter in Gagarino shopping centre in Nizhny Novgorod. The company took the lease of an area of 3,000 m2, previously occupied by a Sunrise outlet, two-thirds of which is taken for a warehouse. The investments in the opening are estimated at RUB 1.5-2m ($33,000-65,000).
The customers can order goods through terminals in the store and via the Internet.
As Retail Update Russia previously reported, Sunrise announced its bankruptcy in 2009. In August that year, the last store under the Sunrise banner was closed.
